Family and friends is a family run guesthouse and is 3-star graded by tourism council of S.A, situated on the bluff and being central to all destinations such as Ushaka, ICC and town beaches (+- 12-15kms), let us make your holiday comfortable in sunny Durban.

We are within walking distance from shops and a 3 minute drive to local beaches and shopping centres.  We have 4 spacious suites, as well as access to various facilities such as a sundeck with great views, a sparkling pool, and braai areas.  Our accommodation is for holiday makers and business people alike. We are wheel chair and family friendly.

Three of our spacious suites, sleeping 6, 6 and 9 guests respectively. All suites have full bathroom en-suite.  Each suite can accommodate an extra 2 guests if the double sleeper couch is utilised.
We also have a honeymoon suite with shower en-suite and can sleep up to 4.  Each suite has its own private entrance

Facilities offered in the suites are queen and single beds, aircons, Tv with dstv, dvd player,  fridge, microwave, tea/coffee facilities, crockery, cutlery, linen are supplied and suites are serviced daily.

A large dining room is available for guests to cook in and we also have a library of over 300 dvds to keep you entertained.

We serve a full english which is optional and can be arranged upon arrival.  We can also arrange lunchboxes and dinners upon request.

Secure parking is available on the property.

A 50% deposit is payable upfront to secure the booking and balance upon arrival. 100% of deposit is forfeited if booking is cancelled or no show.

From Inland (JHB; Pretoria; Bloemfontein):
Travelling on the N3 to Durban as you pass the Pavilion Shopping Centre, (on your right) take the South Coast turn-off on your left. The first turn-off on the left will bring you to Edwin Swaels V.C drive. [please now refer to the DETAILED directions below]

From the North Coast (Richards Bay; Empangeni):
Keep on the Freeway going towards the South Coast until you take the Edwin Swaels V.C drive turn-off on your left. [please now refer to the DETAILED directions below]

From South Coast (Port Shepstone; Amanzimtoti):
Follow the M4 freeway towards the city until you get the Edwin Swaels V.C drive turn-off. Turn right into South Coast rd and then turn right into Edwin Swaels V.C drive. [please now refer to the DETAILED directions below]

From Durban City:
Take the M4 freeway South. Take first turn-off on your will bring you to Edwin Swaels V.C Drive. [please now refer to the DETAILED directions below]

Detailed Directions - From Edwin Swaels V.C drive:
Travel towards the Bluff untill you get to the end of Edwin Swaels V.C Drive and turn left up Bluff rd. At the first set of robots turn right into Old Mission rd. Almost immediately turn left into Clarkson rd. Travel straight up the hill and at the corner it becomes Marathon rd. We are number 22 Marathon rd, which is situated on the corner of the Marathon rd and Olympic Ave. Guest Entrance is in Olympic Ave.
